What happens when ten European NRENs come together to test how they manage a full-scale, cross-border crisis under pressure?
Earlier this month, we found out. TALON, the first simulation-based crisis exercise designed specifically for NRENs, brought together ten organisations to test exactly that: how effectively our community communicates, coordinates & maintains trust when it matters most.

A new GÉANT Twinning partnership is underway 🌍
CSC in Finland and Nepal Research and Education Network (NREN) officially kicked off a 6-month collaboration focused on expanding #eduroam coverage, developing REN awareness materials, and building long-term ties.
The two teams will visit each other later this year, with Nepal joining the global R&E community at #TNC26 in Helsinki in June.

#eduVPN case study: Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (Part 2)
University adopted eduVPN as its sole remote-access system for the entire institutional community.
For Ca’ Foscari, choosing a solution designed specifically by and for the R&E community and supported in Italy by GARR was an important step in aligning remote access with its broader digital infrastructure.

Created in 2002 by Klaas Wierenga, eduroam started as a simple idea: make Wi-Fi secure, easy & free for students and researchers, wherever they go.
Today, eduroam connects people at almost 40,000 locations in 106 countries. In 2024 alone, it recorded over 8.4 billion authentications.
