3 March: On what are you unwilling to compromise?

On my characters. They are what they are. They do what they do. They have a special way of speaking, of telling their stories.

On paragraphing. I use paragraphs to structure the text, to set the pace, to emphasise sentences, to guide my readers. And I hate editors who don't understand that and want to contract paragraphs that do not belong together.
