Extremism is always bad. At the extremes you lose sight of context and perspective. You are too far to see the middle ground. Too far gone to negotiate or see the points the other side is making. At the extremes you are at the edge of a precipice called madness. If you fall off, you don't come back.
At the extremes you cannot hear, you cannot listen, you cannot speak with anything but fanatical fervor and no one will listen even if you are right. Be it an extreme of faith, where you have allowed yourself to be consumed by the blindness of religion or an extreme of politics that you have allowed to convince you that you and only you can be right, it is always wrong. So long as you cannot conceive that someone else may have a good point to make, you will always be wrong even if you are right. You have lost yourself in the drama of a movement that has only lead you to one place, the precipice called madness, and now you teeter there.
Do you fall in unknowing, or do you jump in with eyes wide open? I cannot say, but either way you head straight down into the darkness of the abyss that will never tell you you were right or wrong, only destroy you as you hit the ground below.
Extremism is always the wrong way to go. Extremism is always bad!
