Finally got around to watching Sinners.
DAMN. I see what all the fuss is about.
Rarely entirely serious. Fond of otters and dogs. A bit obsessive about music. Partial to videogames and mucking about with old computers. Keen but inept archer (getting better though). A tech lawyer by trade but mostly tooting about other things. Tries to be a good ally. Probably a bit over-privileged. He/him.

Well, I bit the bullet and did an in-place upgrade to Zorin 18 on my gaming PC.
I fully expected it to go sideways, and I had a USB key ready to do a clean install and restore from backup.
But ... it just worked. The upgrader did disable a couple of third party repos (for perfectly good reasons), but adding them back was the work of a moment.
I'm genuinely impressed.

Do you like little-known history? Do you like mild chaos? Do you like sausages? 'Course you do.
Here's @mrbiffo@topspicy.social and Sanja in Berlin, looking into the history of the humble currywurst. There's a lot more to it than you'd think.

Christ on a broken bike, what a day. Am in an absolutely filthy mood. Not in any way fit for human consumption.
Reset, go again tomorrow I guess.

Mrs H is absolutely glued to the Winter Olympics. I'm dipping in and out, but I have an abiding question about a number of these (very impressive) events. How do you learn how to do them without dying? Like, the skeleton and luge stuff which is basically throwing oneself down a very slippery tube? How do you get started doing something like that and not immediately end up in a crumpled and bloody and broken heap?

X is where you find the people who think they run the Internet.
Bluesky is where you find the people who think they ought to run the Internet.
Mastodon is where you find the people who actually do run the Internet, and kind of wish they didn't.
