@ultranurd ... and yet somehow people posting to Facebook or YouTube *isn't* speech, it's an addictive drug. :^(
(Perhaps SCOTUS will reverse that awful decision. Perhaps they will not, and Section 230 is dead, and the Internet as we know it along with it.)

@c_dan4th I feel like social media has always been a way for me to keep in touch with IRL friends, going way back to the LiveJournal days. I didn't join interest groups or follow people who seemed neat, it was all about people I knew (or once in a while, friends of friends). Dreamwidth, Facebook, Twitter, BlueSky, and Mastodon, are (or were) all like that for me. The main category of exception are authors who I like and want to hear about it when they write something new. :^ )
