As is my habit on a Sunday morning I went for my printed newspapers. I was delighted to see that a previous customer had severely defaced the Sunday Mail offering! 🤓. Don’t even use it in lieu of toilet paper as it’ll wipe more 💩 on than it could possibly wipe off.

As the father of a primary school teacher and the grandfather of a girl with special educational needs I observe just how well my granddaughter is doing in her specialised school. I also have observed just how stressed my teacher daughter is challenged by having severely disruptive children in her classes. Not only is it difficult for her, the vast amount of time she must spend trying to support these pupils (with no help or classroom assistant) means the other pupils are adversely impacted!

Just at a local hospital with my much better half. It’s an endocrinologist appointment. There are signs encouraging those who are fasting for Ramadan to ensure they don’t put their health at risk, including a quote from the good book explaining how they can make up for not fasting! Just been to my local Chinese restaurant, son in laws birthday, regular visit. The place was packed with people of Chinese descent! They were having food that’s not available on the menu! I was a little jealous because it looked amazing. Usually they provide a cake for the end of the meal for a birthday, but tonight we were given Mandarin oranges! We’ve been going for years! Just spent a few days in my local NHS hospital. Many who examined me and spent a little time with me were extremely empathetic. They said things like ‘Gosh, you’ve had a few issues’, or similar, to my eternal shame I didn’t praise them and tell them, that without them and their incredible colleagues I wouldn’t be here! THEY did all the hard work, diagnosing, planning procedures and carrying out those procedures both effectively and safely! Our NHS staff our truly amazing! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

The stories about the NHS leaving patients on corridors on hospital trollies is only half the truth. I’ve been at my local hospital since 11:30, I’ve been triaged, had bloods taken, seen a doctor (they are going to admit me) had medication to protect my stomach, and without ceremony have dumped me back in the waiting room! I don’t blame the staff, who’ve all been wonderful! 14 years of Tory austerity, and almost 30 years of PFI! 🤬
