I should probably be immediately hired by Apple, I achieved my peak of evil engineering. One of mounting screws of a switch is accessible only through a hole, where the barrell jack is mounted later. I'm keeping it that way, I don't have any energy to redesign

Here I share my DIY projects, usually involving 3d-modelling and 3d-printing, analog photography gear, and repairing something broken.
Sometimes just sharing my thoughts and pictures I snapped with my phone, if I find them interesting.
He/him manly male man.
Mostly English, but occasionally German when writing about Germany-specific things.
Sorry for being Reply Guy sometimes, I have no idea how else to find friends here. Feel free to tell me to shut up :D

There are 1024 Grams in Kilogram, right? I'm sending something and I've chosen a "2 kg Paket" in DHL online shop.
The package weighs exactly 2048.0 grams. It's not exceeding 2 Kilograms, right?

Maybe I used the wrong search terms or didn't scroll the search results for too long, but I didn't find any good D-shaft knobs on Printables/Thingiverse. Either the geometry of the shaft part was all wrong and non-compliant, or the knob was pointing in the wrong direction, or I didn't like the shape for some other reason.
Since I had to model anyway, I just made a replica of the original thing I was trying to replace in #OpenSCAD. It's based on pictures of the original knob, so it's not perfect, but close enough.

@FluffyMonoceros@chaos.social it was a self-organized session, I also didn't notice and almost missed it. Fortunately someone invited me after the OpenAutoLab talk
