Look, legislatures, if you want proof of citizenship at the time of voting, you have to also do instant automatic registration, at the polling place, on election day, whenever people show it, and waive all fees for everyone's proof-of-citizenship documents. You can't bring poll taxes back in through the back door, and you can't demand time to verify documentation that's just going to be shoved in the pollworkers' faces on the day anyway.
