The switch I think is still relevant. But interestingly, if there is no external reference point, because everything has a touchscreen for everything, then how do you design a button that is intuitive for someone who uses a touchscreen for the first time? A button that is impossible to mistake for a non-clickable banner with text for instance, where you know at first glance what to do based on its visuals.
