I settled on my #marchintosh project for this year. My clients have been retiring anything with an Intel chip in it. And those have been piling up at my office. So I just finished installing Linux Mint on a few 2015-2017 MacBooks Air. Some $15 AC adapters and out they go to families or kids that need a computer.

I feel pretty much exactly as Kevin eloquently posted here. My “trapped” is slightly worse in that my entire career has been built around supporting people who rely on Apple devices. It’s a microcosm of tech and the USA at large. So depressing.

On a company-owned computer you should have zero expectation of privacy.

(I can’t put that exact phrase in an email to someone paranoid about my installing software on “my computer” that their employer just hired me to manage. So I’m putting it here.)
