@craiggrannell@mastodon.social Agree. I know fisheries is a massive concern for Iceland (same as for Norway and UK). I hope they can find a way to give them sort of exemption or compromise on the common fisheries policy - getting them on board is a lot more important than the fishing industry.

Not fully convinced that effectively blackmailing several major European economics until they agree to let you annexe one of their autonomous territories is the *best* political move in the world.

@markv@mastodon.social There’s no coming back from this, IMO. Because the USA has taught everyone that, against all evidence, they will elect a dictator. And there are no effective checks and balances
