Next step, sound design. I now have a hidden tool in the application that I can fire and you can too if you wanna find it in the source Allows me to design sounds using the NSound library and then pass them to my assistant for use in the application's earcons. NAudio is a really powerful library, and I'll be using it extensively as we move sound around, duplicate it, mangle it etc., later. :D.

Well cool, the connection profiler/test module helped to track things down to a naughty smartlink connect, and an auth that when trying to use a previously used authentication token, would just fail and require a reconnect.

It's really bad when you've tried three implementation plans to fix abug I've been worrying about for days, days I say. Luckily both Claude and I have not given up and we're making strides to a fix. In an accessibility first application, losing focus is inexcusable. That's all there is to it, even if you lose focus for 5 seconds, it's liable to be confusing to someone. There's no need for that, so I swear that before I release this thing, I will fix it, because connecting to your radio should be as easy as turning on your radio no matter how you do it, connecting locally or when the radio is on another coast or around the world. I wish more cared about this crap.

Four bugs fixed, 14 features added. Hoping that after test and any required fixes, I'll finally be able to release a post wpf update to testers. I say I'm releasing to testers, but I'm really just manually building setup files and adding them to github. I'll post the whole changelog here in case you guys are bored and want to read about what we're doing. Gotta say, my changelogs are some of the most unique out there, I add humor and warmth because ... why not make it interesting to find out how to use things. Really, I need to start work on a wiki for this thing or a help system or both. I hate writing documentation, but there is so much you need to learn before using this thing. It's simple to use, but lots of different keystrokes out there. I eed podcasts most likely.

I learned an interesting thing while working with an AI agent to help me transcribe portions of a terribly formatted pdf so it could be transcribed. I can't go into details on what it was, but I was way more successful asking it to extract the document page by page, sometimes paragraph by paragraph. Apparently, because large language models look for patterns in documents like these, you're literally going to get an approximation of the document. Without processing the document piece by piece, I got a literal hallucination of a document including topics that were similar to the doc, but they were hallucinated patterns rather than the exact text. It was a lot of work, but I was able to transcribe mathematical info including descriptions of graphs and it turned out well. Exactly why collaboration with an littlem is much more effective than expecting it just to spit something out.

BBC radio 3 unwind now allows streaming outside the UK. Not sure if it's by design or if you can stream it web wise, but as long as I travel virtually to the UK every month I can keep using BBC sounds to listen to it and it doesn't require connection to a vpn. Handy for insomnia nights like this one. Lovely stuff.

Well, that's pretty neat. I was talking to Claude about how I can get a screen shot of what it needs. I went an d grabbed a python library, wrote a python app to grab a screen shot, convreted it to PNG and is analyzing it. Oh yeah, and it also launched JJ Flex.

dude, I just figured out how to add support for FREEDV2 on Flex using JJ Flex. It will be accessible, will install the freedv2 system onto your pi, and activate then use the node. #hamradio #flexradio O
