Gonna post a bit of smut on main here, but… I think it’s worth recognizing that one of the best long form porn webcomics I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading actually came to a narrative close a couple of days ago: https://buttsmithy.com/archives/comic/epilogue-1

Alfie started off as basically hobbit porn, and the artist has steadily written it and drawn it for 16 years. It’s incredibly well drawn, better written than you expect, and also pretty hot. Seeing them stick the landing is delightful.

Out of this, I learned the term “Anchoring” to describe an effect I observe in myself when using an LLM while working on a problem, and that I find problematic. I hope to use the fact that I now have language for it to help me break out of that loop.

I just read an article on bus stop balancing (https://worksinprogress.co/issue/the-united-states-needs-fewer-bus-stops/) and I'm curious what the #urbanism perspective on it is. For contrast, my partner really misses the frequency of stops in Chicago, now that she's in Seattle, but this article is arguing the opposite.

What I don't see in here is anything addressing the experience of getting to/from the bus -- how far a rider has to travel to access or after accessing transit. Is that not a factor?

All you have to do is look at the dedication to vim/emacs adaptations you’ll see in older coders to see the lengths to which we go to use the tools we feel work best. It is a massive quality red flag if you have to force your staff to use a tool.
