Welp, on the first of four trains over two days, bound for Dortmund (via London, Brussels, and Cologne). At too damn early o'clock! But no airports.

@cstross@wandering.shop Ugh, Dortmund XD Good luck, hopefully the mess that is DB treats you well there.

@phl@mastodon.social The beauty of doing it on a first class Interrail pass is that when DB cancels a train on you, you can simply make a reservation on the next one—regardless of seat class.
A Perl, Mercurial, PostgreSQL and Sublime Text kind of guy. Retoots a lot (you can hide boosts in the kebab menu).

@cstross@wandering.shop The normal DB tickets work similarly too. You can use the ticket you already bought (just no reservation automatically — I think you can buy just reservation for like 5 EUR if you really insist, never bothered with that) on a later train if you missed the original one. And you're entitled to some cashback beyond a certain amount of delay.
Had the "pleasure" to make use of both trying to get home from an airport through Dortmund :D I'll give them the support experience was great.
