Yes. The pedodent is supported by the billionaire class and in turn funnels even more taxpayer dollars to then and his own family. The billionaires in turn help manufacture of amplify the conflicts he feeds upon.

I'm rather suspicious of this story given the timing and the increase of "we need online ID to protect the children" narratives being pushed by various government

Not sure about these days - other than 7-11 the typical “corner store” seems to be getting increasingly rare - but when I was younger most were generally run by people that I assume were immigrants due to having some accent or other.

It's true that normal books *do* experience wear and tear, but looking at what my local library has I'd say that many or most can still least many years before needing to be retired or replaced. As we're seeing with Amazon, with ebooks it's really the readers that expire over time

Bezos has the phallic rockets. Musk has the propaganda machine and electoral tampering. Thiel working in the deathbots and Skynet Zuckerberg maybe? Or maybe Ellison, he's got property in a good location for volcano-lairs.

Yeah this is a huge thing with vehicles. I like my Japanese cars and typically have had either Toyota or Honda. Neither was problem-free by any stretch, but at the same time the ENGINES tended to be very reliable with routine maintenance (belt/oil/etc changes) and the other stuff parts were always available and generally not too expensive. My car's did spend a decent amount of time in the shop, but at 360,000km the engine in my old Camry was still running like a champ even if it burned a little bit of oil and certain parts of the body were becoming more bondo than metal. When small things failed, I'd grab a new one from the hardware store or in some cases the wrecker. I was - with assistance - able to do basic general repairs like belts, brakes, and a clutch in my relatives' garage. We did fuck up the timing slightly once but the engine just stalled out without any permanent damage (whew). I'll also add that a lot of people who drove the more "efficient" foreign cars tended to treat them nicely whereas versus domestics or sporty vehicles. The mindset of the owner matters too. These days... fuck. I can't even easily change the stereo out on my current car - and that's now over a decade old - because it's tied into the side/rear camera system, front display, and a bunch of other shit. I think there's like one head unit that will still handle that stuff but it's hard to get and even then there's no guarantee. Domestic stuff is even worse, with certain trucks unable to source key parts within months of the warranty ending. There's one model where the ECU failed regularly and the supply of replacements dried up, others in shortages due to "supply chain" issues etc, and a whole run of GMC vehicles from between '21 and '24 with connecting rod issues (6.2L v8) that have a major backlog in parts even for in-warranty repairs. My wife's car... well it's an EV which - while it's great not to be buying gas at these prices, the company absolutely is not building these to be convenient to service, and we're lucky if the local dealer could do the more complex stuff it battery work much less a 3rd party mechanic (or me). I'm actually looking at some of the Chinese models which can have safer batteries that are built to be more easily swapped out, and China being what it is somebody will probably be able to make replacement parts for decades.

The incel slope does seem to have a lot more members lately, whether due to social media or guys bitter from failed relationships, bit I will note that there’s an old adage that still often rings true “Men will fight each other physically sometimes to the point of bloodshed, but women will tear each other down socially without mercy”

Many will have married already, so choices when I was in my 30’s tended to be: Somebody who didn’t marry because they really were careful about who they want to date or settle down with. This could be fine, but could also mean unrealistic expectations or some issue that hadn’t worked through previously (I was in the latter boat) Somebody who married and divorced, possibly due to a relationship that went bad. They may be the cause of that, the victim of it, or other circumstances. Increased chance of kids and ex issues Married but the spouse passed away (30+ is increased chances for previously unknown medical issues to crop up, it just a car accident) Somebody who didn’t have it together enough (in their mind) to even consider relationships. Could have been persuing a career or took a bit to get past the “wild party” stage Immigrants. People who worked to get out of one country and to another and relationships weren’t in the cards yet. There can be possible language/cultural miscommunication hurdles (including different social cues) I wouldn’t say it’s the dregs. Just that one’s choices have changed a lot from “the one a couple houses/lockers down from you”.

I mean, I do get it. Some people take on debt as a way to live beyond their means when they could still live a "comfortable" life without the glamour or "keeping up with the Jones". The $80k+ gas guzzling truck bought on credit - that's only used for driving to work and grocery trips - is a good example of this. But a better way of saying this is "live within your means", but it's becoming increasingly impossible to do this and have a standard of living that's just "decent shelter and healthy food" (or even, "enough food") which should be a bare minimum

Google based Android off Linux. Apple based IOS off BSD. Both of those were the result of collaborative work between thousands of millions of contributors. Frameworks exist that assist in making apps for either or both, just like they exist to build games for multiple consoles etc. Meanwhile, Google has now declared that they will require developers register signing key WITH THEM in order to make software that will run on Android (regardless of whether it’s installed via their store or another) and has been taking steps away from providing the the necessary codebase under AOSP etc that allow for third-party projects that were based on Android Google has also transitioned readily to “rent” based services such as YouTube while killing off Google Play Music etc (such actually allowed purchases/downloads of media). Both companies are already heavily investing in generative AI. Do you think that once they have control of all app signing they’ll allow apps that circumvent their advertising or data-harvesting? This doesn’t “make sense”, it makes us pay more to a digital landlord who throws around their weight to lock us in further and further while using their increasing wealth to buy up or crush all the competition. We’re accepting chains of convenience today in trade for restrictions and exploitation tomorrow. I can think of one company that holds a dominating market position and has been somewhat benevolent, and that’s Valve. They don’t buy out competition, they’ve been active contributors to open-source (to the extent that they’ve made gaming on Linux actually viable and good), and they often seem listen to their customers in order to improve. They still do take a goodly % of sales revenue from developers who list with them though.

No, corporate greed is ruining everything with AI. Because you know if they built a super-AI that give them perfect instructions on how to build Earth into a paradise, but it would require they give up 1/4 of their wealth, they’d be reaching for the reset button before it finished printing them out…
