Comparing Notes Between Finland and Taiwan: Disinformation and Hybrid Threats

These topics will be explored on 21 May 2026 in a seminar organized together by the Department of East Asian Studies at the University of Turku and TurkuSec.

This seminar brings together experts in diplomacy, hybrid threats, and cybersecurity research to discuss contemporary challenges related to disinformation, societal resilience, and cyber and hybrid threats. Drawing on perspectives from Taiwan and Finland, the seminar addresses practical and analytical approaches to countering disinformation, understanding hybrid threat activity, and examining the role of emerging technologies such as AI in shaping information environments.

Speakers include Taiwan’s Representative to Finland, Freddy Lim, as well as experts from the European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats (Hybrid CoE), the Finnish Defence Forces, and the University of Turku. Also speaking will be TurkuSec’s very own Ismayil Hasanov! 💪
