Back in the day, in a time when I was a young, and could maybe even have been considered innocent, boy, they were considered pop punk, along with the likes of the Offspring and Blink 182. Much to the dismay of old school 70/80's punks, who found them to be more pop than punk. If it helps: think the Ramones, but a tad slower on the tempo and a more poppy less raw sound.
