Like it or not, the industry as a whole is full of people who are:

  • Only in it for the paycheck.
  • Third rate contractors.
  • Clueless managers on ego trips.

There are plenty of “devs” who don’t understand any CS fundamentals and before Claude just copied code they didn’t understand from StackExchange.

And many managers don’t care if the code shipped is good, or efficient. Passing basic unit tests is what counts as QA in many orgs.

If it passes unit tests it gets merged and shipped.
