The power imbalance of the "Sighted gaze on blind people" was such an issue with both my current therapists that I had to address it in order to progress with therapy. In the arts I see Sophie Calle as the artist who exploited blind people most on account of the "Sighted gaze"
I have always felt deep distrust against the BME volunteers, as a group. And now it turns out to have been the correct stance.
