Since I have been working on this ATC in Antarctica presentation for a friend to give to my #EAA chapter 3/2, tonight I decided to fly the route from down there at Phoenix Airfield (NZFX, ice runway) to Christchurch, NZ, about 2100NM.
Took off, direct track was 343°, GPS had me flying 230°, correcting to 215° for a LEFT Xwind. But WX was showing as 98 kts from 309°, shoulda been correcting for a RIGHT Xwind.
Summer is winter, up is down, left is right? Great circle route? #WTF is going on?
