@Daojoan@mastodon.social As someone from, and to a "Senior ..." type role, currently absolutely failing to "meet expectations" in 2 mo into a new job, I can say that conditions and environment (culture and project scope, structure and architecture momentum) can make or break your "expertise". When you're tasked for, and judged by, something thought to be small, but is in fact one of those "hard problems" and hobbled by structure, "you're supposed to be smart enough to solve this" and the existing expert only able to "well... Yeah this sucks"... Well I'm looking for somewhere new, something new. I'm willing to lift things.
