A drone fly (looks like Eristalis pertinax) is enjoying the sunshine on a wild tulip flower. Drone flies (part of the big group of hoverflies) have aquatic larvae called rat-tailed maggots which like water with high organic load and low oxygen, they can be attracted by leaving vegetation to rot in a bucket of water. #insects
