Let's Encrypt is making changes to the certificates it issues from 11th February. This has some impact on the XMPP network.

No action required for Prosody operators. Operators of servers running ejabberd need to make sure they are running version 25.08 or later.

As you likely know, Snikket uses Prosody underneath, so that shouldn't be a problem as long as you configure Prosody correctly.

If you run the latest Prosody version (13.0.x), there is a new command: 'prosodyctl check features' which will ensure you have traffic optimization and many other things configured correctly 🙂

These features are generally shipped in the default config already, but often new features are added and people keep their existing configuration.

XEP-0421 is absent from the page you linked because that's the site for community modules, and XEP-0421 is built-in for many years now. See a full XEP list here: https://prosody.im/doc/xeplist

The most likely reason for reactions not working is that you probably don't have mod_muc_mam enabled or your room configuration has logging disabled.

We believe the best course for the XMPP ecosystem and network is to continue improving the protocol we already have, instead of making every project implement an entirely new one from scratch (one which has a whole set of different problems). There are practically no benefits which MIX brings that cannot be achieved with MUC.

Yes, Prosody will automatically create the tables it needs if you provide the database and grant it the necessary permissions.

However, do consider whether you need postgres, or whether the default storage or sqlite will suffice. Postgres (as great as it is) generally adds unnecessary complexity to your deployment unless you have a specific reason to use it.
