I had a two-day taste of spring and now I'm utterly unreasonable about it still being March.

Hey, I just wanna acknowledge how joyful making art is. It's fun to complain when it goes poorly but I also wanna acknowledge how *good* it feels to just make art.

I love how art makes me feel powerful, how it can fill me, how it can sweep me away to fantastic places before I've even left my chair.

Those of us who make art - even if just for ourselves - have a gift, not in the talent but in the joy.

What radicalized me (one answer) was watching the most nerdy and well-meaning and rules-respecting of my cohort honestly and truly believe they could reform institutions that were created by and for white supremacy so they spent their lives building beautiful but tiny bandages to place over giant gushing wounds only to have a new administration rip those bandages off and tear them up in their faces.

Somewhere outside of Omelas is a place where everyone works to make sure no children suffer instead of staying where the system requires them to.

I think folks criticizing anti-genocide protestors now are forgetting about when the anti-genocide protestors said it is impossible to support the Gaza genocide without the entire world and the region eventually falling to the same violence.

Instead of rock paper scissors, denizens of the future will play "this distracts from that distracts from the other thing distracts from this..."

Crow update I forgot to post: I think I saw Leftie again (the crow who holds hir right wing low when not flying) and xe stayed long enough at the edge of the roof to grab 2 peanuts while I gazed admiringly with the window open.

There are also 2 jays who are less startled by me and will come to grab peanuts that fell quite close. I try to whistle (bad at whistling) but one did pause to look at me when I did, so I said *something*.
