2 of 2: My usual MO for stressful situations is to freeze like a deer in the headlights while my blood pressure gets higher and higher. All of a sudden my nose starts bleeding because of the dangerously high hypertension. After the bleeding is stemmed and my bouffonted helmet is lacquered into place I'm bustled back into the car to the church. The bride gave us matching rhinestone earrings to wear, but I'm allergic to nickel so I'm standing there trying not to claw at my itching red earlobes. The entire ceremony my heathen brain is marveling at the beauty of the church while thinking, "gods why is she marrying this POS." It's a Catholic wedding so we're talking about a good 1.5 hours. The wedding is finally over and after an interminable number of photos we're bustled next door to the church hall. The groom's cake was a sheet cake that looked like fields with little toy John Deere tractors on it, I shit you not. But there were 4 frozen margarita machines in different flavors, truly epic.

1 of 2: I think it was 2004, and my college roommate was getting married. She is from Fredericksburg, Texas and was married in St. Mary's church (look it up, it's beautiful). Groom is a controlling POS so he picked the wedding dress and the bridesmaid's dresses. All of us bridesmaids were tall and blessed with 22 year old slender bodies and can basically fit into any style, and guy chooses taffeta sweetheart neckline/cap sleeve monstrosities. My roommate, bless her heart, decided she was going to have a John Deere themed wedding, so the dresses were bright green and we had to hold bouquets of yellow roses. The day of the wedding arrives and we're bustled off to the local beauty parlor. If you've ever seen Steel Magnolias, then you have a good idea of what this beauty parlor was like. I sit down in the chair and immediately the stylist begins teasing, teasing, teasing my hair into a giant frizzy dome all over my head.

Today's adventure was running around the St. Charles neutral ground with another lady while we tried to herd a dozen ducklings back to their mom across the street. I hope the drivers were entertained by me falling down while terrorizing a family of ducks. At least a streetcar full of tourists didn't roll by.
