If that works for them then they can do that. I think if most left the house and tried chasing girls IRL rather than online that they’d be pretty successful once they practiced a bit. As an older man, young women seem a lot more thirsty than they ever were when I was young.

Because women are in higher demand than men. That’s the sad truth. Women do make the first move, maybe more than you realize, but they all tend to go for the same top 1% of men. If you aren’t that, then you’ve gotta do some work, either to chase them or to become the top 1% that they chase. It’s a sad reality but that’s what it is.

I don’t think batteries will soak up that much salt for their use. And I’d imagine they saturate over time. It’s very different than something built specifically for deslination.

We had The Hill. They outlawed smoking on campus so everyone would go across the street and stand on this hill to smoke. It had a fence behind it that you could jump if you wanted to smoke weed or drink.

Using it for authoritarianism, sure… But the end state I’m concerned with is a private company building a fleet of robots so big that it can take on a police force or army and win. And then subjugate the population with or just kill everyone off (because who needs everyone else now that there’s a robot army do do whatever you want). I definitely wouldn’t put it past Elon, Theil, Alex Karp, etc. One of those fuckers would probably do it if they could.

I think that LLM’s ability to understand any language, programming or otherwise, is almost entirely a factor of how much training data it can get its claws on. In the cases of new programming languages, it probably won’t be able to do much of anything.
