Well, I have great news for you! I've been working on something very cool for the past few months and today, it's finally yours!

The *official* FastAPI extension for VS Code is now available in the marketplace! 🎉

I might be biased but if you're building a FastAPI app, you're going to want this (oh! and it also works in browser environments like vscode.dev and github.dev, and Cursor too!).

Spent some time making doesjitgobrrr.com pluggable this week so that folks who want to contribute results from their own hardware can do so!

I am particularly interested in consumer-grade hardware with specs that are not yet covered by the website!

Wrote up how I ended up with four machines in my closet running nightly JIT benchmarks.

The answer to "does JIT go brrr?" is roughly "yes, YMMV... about 2-15% faster depending on your hardware" 🤠

Currently hacking on an embeddable Python REPL, powered by Wasm/Pyodide.

My goal is to make it simple to get Python running on a website, just using a script tag/div:

Then, optionally strap on attributes like data-theme="catppuccin-mocha" or data-packages="pydantic, requests, whatever" and everything is taken care of for you!

This weekend's project was building a CLI to build and run any commit of CPython!

every-python makes a blobless clone of the CPython repository (~200MB), checks out the version you want, and builds it locally. Built versions are cached for reuse.

If you pass in --jit, it will detect the correct version of LLVM needed to build from LLVM_VERSION specified in Tools/jit/_llvm.py at the time of the commit and use it!

Makes bisecting JIT things so much simpler 🥲

- 🚀 Live refresh so you can use it as an activity monitor for your processes
