@izder456 I became an OpenBSD user because I wanted an OS that was boring and simple. I was frustrated in the middle of the night one night with a broken computer, and I installed OpenBSD like... 3 times in 15 minutes (used local files, didn't need to wait for the internet), and it made it so much simpler. It's boggling.

@bekopharm yeah - we need to figure out a way to manage AI scrapers as a collective I think. I don't know how to get that collective together, I know a lot of people don't want to leak their methods because it would let the scrapers get around them - but I think we need to handle this as a security threat. I don't know what that fully means yet - but it definitely means some level of open work.

@bekopharm @kfitz I started with a simple fail2ban rule which caught the worst offenders, I've also gotten pretty good at letting things hit search boxes and blocking failures. I've also simply banned Alibaba Cloud where a bunch of the requests have come from. I've also put a bunch of work into making sure my error pages are light weight so I can manage to make most of the requests hit 503 and have minimal load costs, and then let normal users browse.
My only regret is making a signon wall on my RPG wikis - but seems to be a necessary evil.

@Tutanota @protonprivacy getting into a fight with a (shitty) competitor is one thing. Sourcing LLM bullshit means you catch a block
