@cstross@wandering.shop This is part of why I do as much work as possible (probably more than is practical!) inside emacs. Doesn’t really matter if the desktop experience deteriorates if the interface

@Honeydew@mstdn.social Yeah, every time I've made a sincere effort to move to emacs it gave me crippling carpal tunnel pains within 5 working days. (So I stopped.)

@cstross@wandering.shop That's because most keyboards are not designed for humans. Kinesis Advantage is a great keyboard. On most keyboards thumbs are useless and push the space bar but on the Kinesis I use my thumbs for space, backspace, tab, alt, ctrl, mod4, page up, page down etc. etc. I am low key a bit angry that most regular keyboards are torture devices that will criple you, leaving you unable to continue to work a desk job if you use them for a while and don't get me started on mice.
