Remember when Notepad was just… Notepad? A simple text editor nobody asked to be modernized? Yeah, Microsoft didn’t care either. They bolted on Markdown support and AI features anyway. And now we’ve got CVE-2026-20841. Remote code execution. Via a text file. This is the kind of thing that makes you go “oh come on, really?”

The latest selloff was triggered by a new legal tool from Anthropic’s Claude large language model (LLM). The tool – a plug-in for Claude’s agent for tasks across legal, sales, marketing and data analysis – underscored the push by LLMs into the so-called “application layer,” where these firms ‌are increasingly muscling into lucrative enterprise businesses for revenue they need to fund massive investments. The current iteration of Project Motoko is powered by an unspecified Qualcomm Snapdragon chip and uses dual first-person-view cameras positioned at eye level to capture objects, text, and anything else around you. There are also multiple microphones for receiving voice commands, dialogue, and environmental audio, and hands-free controls for managing audio settings. Motoko is designed to be compatible with all major AI models, including those from OpenAI, Google Gemini, and Grok. The wearable “interprets and responds instantly, acting as a full-time AI assistant that adapts to schedules, preferences, and habits,” according to Razer, and will be able to understand context “instantly.”

Listen, CES 2026 is full of AI gadgets, and a lot of them are kind of the same. Some AI gadgets transcribe things; some help you game; some remember your favorite color or whatever. But only one—one—to my knowledge can get you drunk. The R1, which caught my eye at CES 2026, is what a company called Breakreal is billing as an “AI bartender,” which is probably exactly what you think it is. It’s like a Bartesian cocktail machine, but it uses AI to slop up your cocktail with a little AI personalization. With the R1, you can use a companion app to have the device make you a personalized cocktail catered to your mood, or preference of alcohol. You can even tell it to just shut up and make you a good ol’ fashioned old-fashioned.

This specific GPU is… Kind of a mixed bag. It’s supposed to be built on a 6nm process, and the G100 is, according to Lisuan, the first domestic chip to genuinely rival the NVIDIA RTX 4060 in raw performance, delivering 24 TFLOPS of FP32 compute. It even introduced support for Windows on ARM, a feature even major Western competitors had not fully prioritized.
