This list of "banned words" has been posted in the institute's kitchen here in Copenhagen as a reminder of the infringements on academic freedom in the US. There are big concerns among scientists, and at the same time they're unsure how to appropriately respond as a European researcher.

Meine These: #Blockchain bleibt. Trotz Kryptowinter, NFT-Implosion und Scams. Die nächsten Ideen, was man mit der Technik machen kann, versammeln sich hinter dem Marketing-Begriff #Web3: ein Blockchain-basiertes Internet, vermeintlich basisdemokratische Alternativen zu Amazon und Facebook und Monetarisierung von (und finanzieller Teilhabe an) so ziemlich allem von Energieversorgung bis Gewebeproben. Mit @neuspreeland habe ich Szenarien durchgespielt.

Der Tod von Nicolas erschüttert mich. Da steht jemand am Anfang von etwas Neuem und dann wird das so jäh beendet. Ich hoffe, dass seine Mitstreiter:innen sich nicht allzu sehr aus der Bahn werfen lassen, auch wenn ich nicht weiß, wie das gehen soll. Und vor allem wünsche ich seiner Familie und engen Freund:innen viel Kraft. Es ist unfassbar.
