I'm experimenting with combining hand-made maps with the fractal height map I've been using thus far. This first island I made has a series of pits that are really hard to leave . . . it might be a late game kind of map (if it doesn't get replaced). Also I added some sound --

@neauoire i understood it ^^
bag is the perfect metaphor imo, even in english. i don't think multiset is nearly as good ("multiset" always has me wondering about things like infinite cardinality, since that's a big "set" thing).

@cloudthethings i think and hope it will get better again but the right wing backlash and far right push is strong right now. i guess the hope i cling to is that PS is opposed to these changes and will overturn them if given the chance.

last week, anti-trans laws were passed in Portugal.
parliament revoked the 2018 law that gave us self-determination of legal gender and change of name.
in addition they also passed UK-style censorship laws banning schools from talking about gender, and UK-style laws banning the prescription of puberty blockers and hormones to trans children.
this is the first time Portugal has taken away human rights since it became a democracy in the 1970s.

@wilbowma To make it into more of an individual issue: If we could use generative models carefully to ensure we aren't creating lower quality work or doing anything harmful, that would be better. But the issue is that as the user of the generative model, we may not be able to recognize problem(s) with the output. We see this a lot with people using generative models outside their area of expertise, but even an expert will misremember important details from time to time.

@wilbowma That was an interesting read. I agree that power probably is the biggest issue.
Though I think we also can't ignore the slop & related skills problem, even if it might be fixed eventually (which i doubt will happen soon). I believe that collectively lowering standards will lead to harm, even if we can't predict exactly how that harm will manifest. We have reason to believe that e.g. poorly understood software will have exploits, poorly researched writing will have bias, etc.
