[En] Velvetyne is pleased to annonce that the first edition of the "Support Opensource Signs" call for projects was granted to Solenne Madi. A Franco-Lebanese Graphic designer and typographer based in Rennes (France), her work focuses on the dialog between Latin and Arabic scripts. As part of the call for projects, she will carry on her research on Arabic display typefaces in a context of preserving Lebanese cultural heritage.

[Fr] L’association Velvetyne a le plaisir d’annoncer que la première édition de l’appel à projets « Support Opensource Signs » a été remporté par Solenne Madi. Graphiste et typographe Franco-Libanaise installée à Rennes, son travail s’attache aux dialogues entre les systèmes typographiques latin et arabe. Elle poursuivra, dans le cadre de l’appel à projets, ses recherches sur les caractères de titrage arabes ancrant le projet dans un contexte de préservation de l’héritage culturel libanais.

@dobody@mastodon.design de rien, si tu trouves la source originale des lettres, on aimerait bien voir. Tandis que les lettres du texte ont bien l'air d'avoir été tracées à la main, les titres pourraient avoir été dessinés avec un normographe (ou "trace lettres") comme celui-ci (Minerva, il y avait d'autres marques, comme Nestler) (le style des lettres est un peu différent)
