we bought some 80s Japanese MSX magazines at VCFMW and I was so intrigued by a program listing for a program called BALLS (ボールズ) that I typed the impenetrable wad of MSX BASIC into a web based emulator. it worked!!!!!!!!! sort of!!!!!!!!!!! i'm too tired to fix the bug in line 6!!! remembering that I had to type my own line numbers in BASIC was a clutch realization. this was so gratifying.
