Whatever e-reader you get make sure it's one that you can jailbreak to install koreader, beyond that it's just personal preferences. Do you want hardware buttons or a touchscreen? Are you happy with a lower resolution? Do you need integrated light for the display?

It’s not “americans” (as in people whose families have lived there for a few generations), it’s immigrants who brought their culture and then adapted it to the locals. You can find this in almost every country.

Not quite. Green countries are germanic or uralic (finnish, estonian, hungarian). I assume each country is only represented by a single language on the map, and Ireland is probably assumed to be speaking English according to this map.
