We released #GIMP 3.2.0 today! Quite an exhausting week with usual last-minute issues!
E.g. the CI infra suddenly failed yesterday! Fortunately admins were prompt to fix as always (still I went to bed at 1AM)!
Then issues in Windows packaging, which testers didn't notice with early test packages (of course, only noticed by someone just after the tagging! 😱).

Yet all in all, first time I end the release around 7PM after having started the release day at 9AM! The procedure gets better! 😄

The @GIMP@floss.social project got a very cute fan mail through actual post 💌, with a donation.

We would love to share a scan, but it's not cool to share private messages without consent, so we won't. It is though very heart-warming! 🥰

We have had some at #ZeMarmot too across the years, and actual fan mail, and even more when it's through physical letters, is always extremely cool to receive! 🤗

In 1995, November 21, a young US student, Peter Mattis, announces a program on some Linux newsgroups, called "The GIMP: the General Image Manipulation Program". 2 years later, Spencer Kimball (other co-author) and Peter graduate and leave.

Thanks to the #GPL license, the community take over development.

30 years later… The project is thriving, with contributors from all over the world, and maintainers from Germany, Norway, France, Korea, Netherlands… 🤗
