My current Youtube hole is increasingly insane roller coasters made in Planet Coaster 2 (warning: potential motion sickness): https://youtu.be/m6zeF8MU978?si=xMAkRBPixB5px8Lp&t=123
#capoeira tonight: Beginners class was one person, because all three of the others were traveling/busy. I certainly made the beginner work hard.
Conditioning was better attended, as people seem to be recovering from the wave of flu that's been going around.
I heard about "skimo" for the first time today and was disappointed to learn it was not a combination of skiing and sumo wrestling.
I'm not even looking at this person's profile. No words here are anything I want to engage with.
Today (or yesterday) I learned that for like $200 you can book a ride down a former Olympic bobsled track, in a bobsled. I don't have a bucket list but maybe I do now and there might be one thing on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1fhLCs7A4A
#capoeira tonight: Beginners class was the four regulars plus THREE teenagers who are normally part of the teenagers' class. Things got a little chaotic with the kids, I had to be more clear about drills and partners and such.
Adults class was lightly attended, only four people. More people texted the group chat that they were sick or busy with work than showed up to class. Some illness is going around for sure.
IN 2024 Hasbro/Nerf released a new, proprietary dart shape that everyone hated. At the time Hasbro said this was The New Standard and They're Not Going Back.
2026's new releases have just been announced, and to the amusement of hobbyists, Nerf is back to the old dart shape. The New Standard lasted all of *checks* eighteen months.
Now I can't think of luge or skeleton without thinking about that SNL sketch. "I hate the luge. It's way too fast. It scares me to death, and I seriously hate it."
If movie theaters want to make the case to me that I should spend more money going to watch movies, they could start by not charging $20 for a matinee and then showing a full 30 minutes of trailers and ads before showing the movie.
#capoeira last night: I stumped the beginners with some role entrando drills. Used it as a way of showing that even if we train a move one way there's nearly infinite variations in how to do it, based on distance and timing.
Conditioning class was super small, only 4 people. I know one person was out from illness, and there's something going around, so maybe more people were sick and didn't mention it.
Thinking back to that one viral tweet were a teenager redrew North and South America with patch notes like Long Chile and North and South Dakota being combined into West Dakota.

40 reps of 360's using the 15 pound steel mace, and my hands are like "wow that was a lot of work"
I'm not going to today's parade. Last time they had a Seahawks victory parade I worked in Pioneer Square, and the light rail to work was the most crowded I had ever seen to that point.
These days I work in SeaTac but today I'm working from home because I don't want to take up room on any roads or mass transit. I'll leave the space for the Seahawks fans. #Seattle
Filed my taxes today, woohoo. This year I am owed like $4000 because of tax withholding overlap between two jobs. I want that money back in my hands ASAP.
