What verification means Verification means that two volunteers from our team – one from Gaza and one from outside Gaza – had a video call with the person/people listed here. During the call we: Spoke to them to Palestinian Arabic Had them show us around outside their home to verify that they are in Gaza (if their profile lists them as being there; we also verify Gazans who have been displaced to other countries and regions). If their profile states they’re in Gaza, we have checked they have an IP address in Gaza. Verification means that, based on the above process, we believe they are Palestinian from Gaza. It is not a character reference and does not attest to anything beyond this. How we can help If this account is unfairly limited or suspended for who they are – and has not broken the rules – please get in touch with us and we will advocate on their behalf and help them move to a safe server if need be. TIL about Kessler Syndrome compliments of NASA Quote 0: Currently, there are over 27,000 tracked pieces of debris, each larger than 10 cm, and millions of smaller, untraceable fragments orbiting Earth. Even a tiny fragment, moving at speeds of up to 28,000 kilometers per hour, can cause catastrophic damage. Quote I: Sudden Alarm? In recent years, space activity has surged dramatically. Companies like SpaceX are launching thousands of satellites for mega-constellations aimed at providing global internet access. While these projects are revolutionary, they also contribute significantly to space congestion. According to Dr. Vishnu Reddy, a planetary scientist at the University of Arizona, “The number of objects in space launched in the last four years has increased exponentially.” In 2009, a wake-up call came in the form of a collision between the defunct Kosmos-2251 satellite and the operational Iridium-33 communications satellite. The impact created thousands of debris pieces, many of which are still orbiting Earth today.
