US Top News and Analysis | China’s EV price war turns into AI arms race beyond cheaper cars AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. China’s electric‑car market, already in the grip of a protracted price war, is now shifting to a “feature war” centered on in‑car artificial‑intelligence systems. More than 50 Chinese brands have adopted ByteDance’s Doubao AI, which now powers 145 models and over seven million vehicles, while Alibaba’s Qwen AI is being rolled out in BYD and a Volkswagen joint‑venture to enable voice‑driven services such as food‑order and hotel booking. The rush to add AI‑driven cockpit technology—easily updated over‑the‑air—is forcing automakers to compete on rapid feature deployment rather than on price alone, yet analysts warn that these capabilities quickly become commoditized. Consequently, firms like Nio are seeking differentiation through premium “outside‑of‑the‑car” experiences, exclusive clubs and high‑end interiors, as the industry looks for new ways to stand out in an increasingly homogeneous AI‑laden market. US Top News and Analysis | Google cloud growth tops Microsoft and Amazon as all three beat estimates on AI demand AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. In the first quarter, the three leading cloud providers all surpassed analyst expectations, with Google posting the most striking growth—its cloud revenue jumped 63% to $20.03 billion, the fastest expansion since the segment was separated in 2020. Amazon Web Services saw a 28% increase to $37.6 billion, while Microsoft’s Azure and other cloud services rose 40%, beating estimates. The surge is driven by soaring demand for artificial‑intelligence models and services, as Google pushes its Gemini AI and tensor‑processing units, Amazon expands its Bedrock AI platform, and Microsoft reports a doubling of customers using Anthropic and OpenAI models. Together, the trio expects to spend nearly $600 billion on capital expenditures this year, even as smaller “neocloud” players capture about 5% of the market. US Top News and Analysis | Microsoft and Nvidia finally became cheap enough for this value investor – and he plans to buy any dips AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. Chris Grisanti, chief market strategist at MAI Capital Management, recently decided to add Microsoft and Nvidia to his value‑focused portfolio after both stocks became price‑attractive following early‑year weakness. Managing the MAI Focused Equity Strategy with $3 billion in assets, Grisanti targets companies trading at least one standard deviation below their historical P/E ratios, backed by solid balance sheets and dividends. He noted that Microsoft, now trading around 19.6× next year’s earnings—nearly two standard deviations below its six‑year average—offers about 30% upside if re‑rated, while Nvidia, trading at roughly 18× forward earnings, could see up to 60% upside if it returns to its historical 30× multiple. Both holdings are now his third and fourth largest positions, and he plans to buy any further dips, provided valuations remain reasonable and the AI‑driven growth narrative holds. US Top News and Analysis | We toured an AI data center to see how our stock names make these facilities work AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. The article reports on a tour of CoreSite’s AI‑optimized NY3 data center in Secaucus, New Jersey, highlighting how massive power, cooling, and fiber‑optic infrastructure are essential for today’s artificial‑intelligence workloads. CEO Juan Font likens the facility to a shared‑services mall, while executives from CoreSite, Prime Data Centers, and Amazon explain that demand for megawatts—now measured in hundreds to thousands—has surged as tech giants such as Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft and chip makers Nvidia and Broadcom pour billions into new campuses. To meet this load, data centers are turning to supplemental energy sources (fuel cells, natural‑gas turbines from GE Vernova), advanced power‑distribution equipment from Eaton, high‑performance GPUs and custom chips, and liquid‑cooling solutions from companies like Dover and Boyd Thermal. The growth in fiber‑optic connectivity, driven by suppliers such as Corning, and networking hardware from Broadcom and Nvidia, is also accelerating. The piece underscores the investment thesis that the AI‑driven data‑center boom creates opportunities across five sectors—power, chips, fiber, networking, and cooling—with CNBC Investing Club holdings positioned in firms like GE Vernova, Eaton, Nvidia, Broadcom, Corning and Dover. US Top News and Analysis | Five 'Magnificent Seven' names will post earnings before the week ends. Levels to watch AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. The article reviews the upcoming earnings reports of the five “Magnificent Seven” megacap growth stocks and examines what their chart patterns suggest for the near‑term market. It notes that the MAGS ETF, which tracks these large‑cap growth names, has rebounded sharply from March lows but has yet to break new highs, hovering near its 200‑day moving average and showing a potential inverse head‑and‑shoulders formation. Relative strength is evident as MAGS has outperformed the S&P 500 in recent weeks, and historic pullbacks have typically been followed by multi‑month rallies that restored the ETF to prior relative highs. Among the individual components, Google (GOOGL) and Nvidia (NVDA) have outperformed the ETF dramatically over the past year, while the other holdings have lagged, dragging overall performance. The piece concludes that a positive earnings response from the lagging stocks, combined with continued strength from the leaders, could revitalize the broader large‑cap growth complex, though investors should watch for overbought conditions and potential price ceilings. This is how it ends... Six of the Magnificent Seven bet everything on cloud AI, pouring billions into warehouses of NVIDIA GPUs, sucking electricity and guzzling water. Apple didn't go this way, and in this video I make the case that #Apple has already won the AI race, and explain why a Medium piece by Michal Malewicz argues the catalyst that bursts the bubble won't be an #NVIDIA earnings miss or an #OpenAI funding crunch, it'll be a 128GB Mac Mini. https://youtu.be/SmuX-Al7DUs?si=jp1uGvcd-LXss_L6 #ai #llm

Irish Independent : Independent | Are plumbers and electricians really the new millionaire class? AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. Plumbers, electricians and other skilled tradespeople are being hailed as the emerging “millionaire class” as artificial‑intelligence advances threaten many office jobs. Nvidia’s chief Jensen Huang has warned that AI‑proof occupations such as electricians, plumbers and carpenters will be the real winners of the AI boom, and in Ireland the trend is already reshaping career advice: parents are reconsidering university routes for their children, and the once‑niche story of a lucrative trade is now mainstream. The rising demand for these professions reflects a broader shift toward valuing hands‑on expertise in a market where traditional graduate jobs appear less secure. US Top News and Analysis | Nvidia stock closes at record, pushing market cap past $5 trillion AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. Nvidia’s shares closed at a record high of $208.27 on Friday, pushing the company’s market cap above $5 trillion as investors surged into the AI‑chip trade ahead of upcoming earnings from major hyperscalers. The stock rose 4.3 % after a rally sparked by better‑than‑expected earnings from Intel, whose shares jumped 24 %—their strongest day since 1987—while AMD and Qualcomm also posted double‑digit gains. Nvidia, up more than 14‑fold since the end of 2022, has benefited from soaring demand for its graphics processing units used by Google, Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, OpenAI and Anthropic. Although the broader tech sector had been pressured by rising oil prices and supply‑chain disruptions, AI infrastructure demand remains strong, sending the Nasdaq up 15 % in April and setting the stage for Nvidia’s continued growth despite emerging competition from new chips announced by Alphabet. US Top News and Analysis | Buying chip stocks is getting pricey. Traders don't care AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. Semiconductor stocks have surged, with the VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH) up over 30% this month and implied volatility rising, making options increasingly costly. The rally intensified after Intel posted earnings that lifted its shares 23% and pushed its market value above $400 billion, while AMD jumped 15%. Memory makers Micron and Sandisk see strong bullish option signals, with calls outnumbering puts two‑to‑one and call premiums four times higher than puts. Nvidia, though less volatile, still attracted heavy call buying, highlighted by a trader purchasing 7,500 $230‑strike calls worth $413,000 ahead of its May 20 earnings, reflecting continued trader confidence despite pricey options. yahoo news | Is the AI Gold Rush Over? Costco and Walmart Just Delivered a Sobering $163... Over the past three years AI‑related stocks such as Nvidia and Palantir have driven the market higher, delivering staggering gains of more than 1,100 % and 2,600 % respectively. The hype stems from AI’s promise to increase efficiency, speed product development, and fuel revenue growth, leading investors—from retail traders to hedge funds—to pile into the sector. However, recent macro‑economic headwinds, including geopolitical tension in Iran and uncertainty about U.S. growth, have caused investors to question whether those soaring valuations are sustainable, prompting a pull‑back in AI‑heavy portfolios. In the latest quarter, retail giants Costco and Walmart dramatically outperformed the AI leaders, each adding $60 billion and $103 billion in market‑cap while Nvidia shed roughly $300 billion. This rotation reflects a broader shift toward perceived “safer” consumer‑staples assets; the Vanguard Consumer Staples ETF, heavy with Costco, Walmart, Coca‑Cola and Procter & Gamble, gained over 6 % in the same period. Investors appear to be favoring companies that can maintain steady revenue in any economic climate rather than speculative AI bets. The dip in AI stocks does not necessarily signal the end of the AI gold rush. Demand for AI chips, networking equipment, and data‑center services remains strong, and the long‑term market for AI is still projected to reach trillions of dollars by decade’s end. Consequently, the advice is to hold quality AI positions, consider adding on when valuations dip, and view the current slowdown as a rotation rather than a permanent decline. While consumer‑staple stocks illustrate the present trend, the underlying AI infrastructure continues to offer substantial upside for patient investors. Yahoo Finance | Wall Street's Most Consequential Company -- Whose Shares Have Gained 464,000% Since 1999 -- Turns 33 Today Wall Street's Most Consequential Company -- Whose Shares Have Gained 464,000% Since 1999 -- Turns 33 Today You may not realize it, but what's arguably become the most important publicly traded company of our generation was founded 33 years ago today. On April 5, 1993, Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) was cofounded in Sunnyvale, CA, by Jensen Huang (the company's current CEO), Chris Malachowsky, and Curtis Priem. Although Nvidia was best-known for its graphics processing units (GPUs) used in PC gaming for decades, it's the company's artificial intelligence (AI) contributions that have sent its shares up nearly 464,000%, including dividends paid, since its initial public offering in January 1999. Observer | Starcloud CEO Philip Johnston on Putting the First A.I. Data Center in Space by Tom Samiljan Starcloud-9293.jpg?quality=80&w=970" alt="Three men in black shirts posing for a photo" width="970" height="647" data-caption='Philip Johnston (middle) and his co-founders, Adi Oltean (right) and Ezra Feilden (left). Gregor Elgee'> In November, a 60-kilogram satellite the size of a small refrigerator called Starcloud-1 streaked into low Earth orbit aboard a SpaceX rocket carrying the first data-center-class GPU ever operated in space—an Nvidia H100 roughly 100 times more powerful than any prior orbital compute. Within weeks, Starcloud, the company making the satellite, announced it had trained a language model on the complete works of Shakespeare and had run Google’s Gemini from roughly 200 miles above Earth. “The spacecraft is performing better than we could have hoped for,” Philip Johnston, co-founder and CEO of Starcloud, told Observer. Johnston founded the Redmond, Wash. company in early 2024, backed by a conviction that has since attracted $200 million from investors, including Nvidia, In-Q-Tel, Sequoia Capital and Y Combinator: Rather than build better infrastructure on Earth to satiate A.I.’s runaway energy appetite, move the infrastructure off of Earth entirely. Today (March 30), the company announced it raised a $170 million in Series A funding at a $1.1 billion valuation, helping it reach unicorn status in just 17 months (and the quickest to do so in Y Combinator’s history). Johnston, 39, brings a distinctly financial pragmatism to the cosmos. Before pivoting to aerospace, Johnston served as an algorithmic trader at BNP Paribas, consulted for national space agencies at McKinsey and co-founded Opontia, an e-commerce aggregator that raised $46 million before being acquired. Starcloud-1 is the first data center in space Orbital data centers have a cooling problem Space data centers are gaining steam amid regulatory and political risks Read more: https://observer.com/2026/03/starcloud-ceo-philip-johnston-nvidia-space-data-center/ #datacenter #nvidia #space #spacex
