I'm down to the last 4 canon Oz books. I'm still not used to some of the cultural differences. At least in the US, we don't kiss friends. This is especially true in certain areas where even family rarely hug or kiss each other. However, this does seem to be commonplace in depictions of royalty and high society. Even some Nancy Drew books had friends kiss. Some of the language is outdated. Even the standard dictionary didn't have the words. I grew up with strict grammar. My skills have waned some since college. So, the poor grammar used by someone in high school really bugs me. Sometimes Dorothy behaves like a young child. It makes me wonder what typical behavior was like in the 1920s. What I enjoy the most is the messages from the author. He really appreciates his readers, and he loves receiving their messages. #Oz #language #mannerisms

I’m watching anime adaptation of the Oz books. I saw these as a kid. Occasionally I’ve suspected these are something I imagined… but no, it’s real. It’s all on YouTube. And it’s narrated by Margot Kid

I saw this article about a Wizard Of Oz anime, posted 20 hours ago, and thought ‘Hey you stole my thing from Mastodon!’. Turns out this is a different Wizard Of Oz anime. This is a movie from 1982, whereas I was watching a TV series from 1986. https://www.polygon.com/the-wizard-of-oz-1982-anime-movie-review-fever-dream/ #Oz

Here’s Dorothy rocking a giant paper bird whilst trying to help the Tin Man fight a cave-troll-esqe creature below. #Oz
