I just finished watching Raise the Titanic. My father kept saying it's going to be a trash film but with a budget of 36million in 1980 you can't fumble that bad. Unfortunately I had to watch it in german cause youtube usually only has the official language of the country available. Anyways you could tell where all the budget went with the military ships, the models and the special effects. The story was pretty much your average cold war thriller, you had the Americans doing shady stuff, the Soviets plotting evil shit and a big fat plottwist. While watching it I couldn't stop thinking about the abyss, probably cause both are thrillers where the plot point is underwater and aren't also considered horror.
