Farsi/Persian-language Numbers Station active now on 7842 kHz. As expected, due to heavy jamming on 7910 kHz, the station changed frequency. Received in Milan at 18:14 UTC on March 7, 2026.
For context: Numbers stations are shortwave radio transmissions used by intelligence agencies to send coded messages to operatives in foreign countries. A frequency change under jamming indicates active countermeasures and adaptation — meaning these are live intelligence communications.

HAPPENING NOW: V32, the Farsi-language shortwave station that began broadcasting on February 28, is currently active on 7910 kHz.
Shortwave broadcasts to Iran at this frequency and time carry specific significance. These are not routine transmissions.

@hbons@mastodon.social @jimmac@mastodon.social @kolunmi@hachyderm.io btw, my absolute favourite app of the past couple weeks has been #shortwave ... what a pleasant way to enjoy some silly nostalgia. i think i've opened somafm to listen to groove salad, like, twice, in the past 10 years. it's now at least a once-a-day thing because it doesn't require keeping a tiny browser window floating around, somewhere. there's something about native apps that are just so much more *real*.
