Over the past year I’ve been getting back into #minidisc. It's the best #music format! (sorry #vinyl lovers and #cassette heads) It started with picking up a portable player / recorder in a fit of nostalgia, and more recently I added a stereo unit which I'm really loving. I’ve built up a collection of discs and jewel cases, and I’ve been really enjoying using #photopea and a template on bandcds.co.uk to make professional-looking jewel case covers. To make it a little easier I came up with a Minidisc J-Card Creator webapp: https://mdcover.batgranny.fyi You can search for an album and have it automatically populate the artist name, album title, cover art, and tracklist. The cover image is scalable and you can also adjust the font size and padding for the tracklist and spine text. I mostly made it for myself but I'm sure others might get some use out of it. I'm not a developer so it's probably riddled with bugs but it makes what can be a fiddly job, a little easier.

#morningCoffeeAlbum Rory Gallagher - Live (generally known as Live In Europe) On what would have been Rory's 78th birthday, it seems appropriate to play this, the first album of his I bought. I'd just seen him do two sets at the Great Western Express festival near Lincoln in May 1972. As I remember, I bought the album from the very young Virgin Records, when it was a cut price mail order company taking out full page ads in the Melody Maker and other music press. It's a US pressing, and in remarkably good nick considering the almost constant playing it got from me as a 17 year old. #nowPlaying #RoryGallagher #music #vinyl
