Online communities matter. I've always been a bit of a hermit in real life, but being part of online communities makes me feel more complete, even though I rarely meet anyone in person. I use Zwift to run virtually when the weather is bad or I just don't feel like going outside. I rarely chat while running, but this time I ran with some pro athletes again, and the team leader wanted to send greetings to a buddy fighting cancer. I sent her some Finnish SISU. Seeing those constant support messages appear right at the 10-minute mark (he asked us to send them all at once for a photo) got me emotional. Such a unique, sweaty run.
