@levi I may have been a bit harsh, to be fair liberated systemd is still better than upstream systemd!

@levi "liberated systemd" is the biggest oxymoron I've seen from 2026 so far. We tried for years and years to warn big distro dwellers of the trap. Then we were laughed at for warning about IBM takeover of redhat (same company that fronted money to hitler for the tabulation machines used in genocide). It wasn't enough that microslop effectively owns the project now, they still refuse to admit to being caught in a trap and are beyond saving at this point.

@David_Kelly_SF I've recently been wondering about the lack of mass in these voids, and how gravity is proven to affect the flow of time. If there is less gravitational influence on time would an object travelling at 100,000km/sec near a galaxy end up moving at the same speed in one of these voids if "a second" is flowing at twice the rate as where It started?

@robpike @sundogplanets Trying to provide low latency by burning up billions of dollars a year in hardware reentry is definitely consistent with the modern loss-leader mentality. They will try to eat the losses for a couple decades, which is long enough to make sure no competitors gain traction and their chips become the hottest new tech the handset cartel, automobiles, etc, force you into. In a normal functioning society the FTC would be able to shut the monopoly guys off the game board, but here we are. Maybe buffer bloat will save us by inflating those precious "low latency" figures up once actual john random users get on the network.
