Never done it, but I do put them on my deviled eggs. I wouldn’t personally mix it with the egg salad, but it would be a topping of the sandwich. I will for sure be doing this next egg salad batch I make though. I’m not sure why I’ve never tried it nor ever heard it. In the Midwest US.

Whether the US is the right choice for you probably depends on your skin tone and where you’d be living. If you appear Asian and move to rural Texas, you’re probably gonna have a bad time. If you look Asian but move to somewhere like NYC where there’s more of a melting pot of citizens and currently liberal leadership, it will probably be a better experience. There is a lot of bad stuff happening here, but it isn’t detrimental (currently) to everyone equally. I personally wouldn’t consider China due to the extreme censorship and heavy handed government, but the US is tracking that way. Japan has its own issues as you mentioned, but I’m not well versed enough to speak on them. It’s definitely not a clear cut choice and you’ll probably have to eat some shit regardless of your choice. I think the potential is highest in the US for success compared to the other choices, but you could also walk into the wrong store and get arrested by ICE.

I missed the notch. Good point. I did go back and looked closer after my post and the weird hard cutoff on the focus on the heatsink is giving weird vibes too. If it were just focus I'd expect a smoother transition. I can't fully discount that the lack of pixels is to blame, but the notch definitely is missing. As someone else pointed out, the ram position is odd too in relation to the mobo. Thinking about it, the power connector is in a weird spot too. Never seen one in that orientation. Usually it's vertical towards the edge of the board. I definitely spent more time looking for malformed shapes and details then I did component position. But at the same time, I think of that stock photo of a lady pretending to solder, but she's holding the iron by the hot part. It would be weird to not use a real mobo for a stock photo though.

Good eyes. From experience I think if they were oriented the other way it would be more accurate. Never had a mobo where they are parallel to the PCIe slots.

Any particular reason you feel that way? I'm not seeing any telltale signs that most AI generated photos have. Not saying you're wrong, just wondering what you're seeing that I don't.

I have a good friend that is a cardiologist in the air force. Joined the military when he got into med school to cover his tuition and the get guaranteed residency. He’s never been deployed over seas, never been in a war area, and never designed a process or item that has led to an indirect killing. An exception could be if he saved someone that went back to kill someone, but that would be true for all doctors military or not, so that’s not a valid comparison. There are many military jobs that are simple office jobs like accounting. Not everyone of them is linked to battle. If you think these more mundane jobs indirectly lead to military related casualties, you better start hating on your local grocery store, because odds are they have given supplies to a soldier that eventually indirectly killed someone. Or probably any public service a soldier could use, because indirectly, that may help the soldier kill someone.

Yea, I try to not go down that path if available, but just tonight for example we were talking about an athlete who I lost respect for due to their not getting the covid vaccine when it was mandatory. I expressed that given the timing, I can empathize to an extent, but at a certain point, this person just ignored any procedure and didn’t work for an alternative, which there were paths for. In reality, it shouldn’t be a political opinion, but vaccines have become political. I generally try not to engage in political discussion in person otherwise, but if I get pulled into it, I’m not in the habit of letting bigots speak without pushback, regardless of my relationship (boss, subordinate for example) to that person or persons. Silence is complacency. I try not to stir the pot, I’m not going to keep quiet just to not insult someone’s opinions, but I do try to speak in a respectful manner for the sake of conversation rather than debate. 90+% of the time it’s a non issue because I try to take steps to not be belligerent, and often times that leads to some level of constructive conversation or it just pivots to something else and we all move on amicably.

Usually it’s because the topic i want to discuss is politically motivated. I always preface with, not to get political but… And try to make it a neutral conversation.

The only reason I stopped using Librewolf is because it has to install from binaries on update and that took a nonsignificant amount of time on at least Arch. I didn’t love the extra overhead from the security, but I would do it if it didn’t mean 15 min updates seemingly every couple of days. Maybe I’m an anomaly and was doing something wrong, and I’d love to hear if others have something better, but I just try to adjust my behaviour accordingly.

Boone? There are plenty of fan boys out there that are selling rust like AI, or in other words snake oil. Rust obviously has built in securities that C doesn’t have, but a shitty coder is a shitty coder and bad QC is bad QC. Now we’re seeing the reality of the consequences. Rust and/or other memory safe® languages are like the future, but hopefully more people are now seeing the cracks. Just look at cloudflare for a prime example.

For a basic setup to learn hello world and basic if/then logic, it’s extremely simple to setup Python on Windows or Linux. For Windows, which I’m guessing every non technical viewer will be using, download the installer and hit next taking the default values. Open idle, type the very human readable, print(“hello world”). Save and press f5. That’s it no complicated setup. OP isn’t talking about teaching a lesson where any confusing syntax will come into play. They are giving an intro to programming class. That’s all about learning basic programming concepts which is done very easily in Python. You wouldn’t teach a non technical first time programmer a ternary operator or a list comprehension. You’d teach them: if a == 10: print("a = 10") else: print("a is not 10") and simple for loops for x in range(10): print(x) I don’t know about you, but to me that’s about as human readable as it gets. No imports required. No extra packages. Just default python install and copy paste and this will work. There are other languages with minimal setup that can be used. OP could go as far as basic JavaScript in JS fiddle so no setup would be required. The basics of JavaScript are also very easy to read compared to a language like C where explicit typing is required. That can be a difficult concept for people that have never even seen code before. Python and JavaScript soften that blow. Once the concepts of if/then, loops, and functions are grasped it’s much easier to pivot to other languages with more verbose syntax. I’m not here suggesting that Python is by any means the superior language of the universe, just that it’s a very good option to learn with for it’s entry level simplicity and syntax readability, which I’ve demonstrated.

Python 100%. It’s the most human readable and easiest to pick up, especially for a non tech person. It’s easy to setup contrary to what I’ve read in the comments. Go to python.org install the latest version and that’s it. The downloader includes Idle so no other ide is required, but I’d consider vscode as well. Either watch an install video or better yet do it yourself before going to class. I think you need to highlight the differences between OSs when it comes to setup if you plan on having a mixed environment of systems. It will also affect the code you write, so to be thorough, you’ll need to cover those differences as well. Don’t go low level like C. These people will die the first time they have to compile in terminal.

America isn’t the only place with sponsored stadiums. Emirates stadium (Arsenal FC) and Etihad stadium (Man City) are both sponsor names for example. It’s more common in lower leagues for the financial bump.

All possible, but currently I have lifetime Plex pass and just need to share with people I want to share with. No extra config. Once Jellyfin can do that or something similar, I’ll look at jumping ship. Until then, the juice isn’t worth the squeeze.

Sometimes time is enough. I’m the 3rd of 4 with my eldest sibling being 10 years older. The other 3 of us are close in age, so through middle school and early highschool, we were shits to each other. Nothing crazy but we were all teens. Once we were all in high school, we all got along a lot better and that’s only got better over the past couple decades. We were raised to respect people and be generally not shitty. We were all treated equally and nobody was spoiled or favored. I think those are the most important facets plus the friends we hung out with. Shitty friends will bring anyone down, speaking anecdotally. A strong foundation of understanding how to be respectful and what’s right and wrong has certainly saved my younger brother and I from going down really bad paths.

Is there a specific reason you never used it? Plex isn’t great with their enshitification, but once you have a Plex pass, that’s the complete expenditure. I disabled all of the “free” and other streaming suggestions from my Plex environment.

Does jellyfin have an easy way for remote streaming? I have a couple dozen people on my Plex server, most not very tech savvy, so setting up tailscale and running remote that way isn’t an option. I have a Plex pass so I haven’t been screwed by Plex yet, so I’m not rushing to get out, but I could see myself running both.
