@linuxgnome Absolutely not, plenty of places around the globe that have the equipment to recycle them, just the demand isn't there at the moment to make it "economically viable", plenty of #ev batteries currently being repurposed to use for home storage when they're considered EOL for personal transport.
Given the lifespan of an LFP battery is around 20 years we have plenty of time to get the infrastructure to handle them when they do become EOL

For a solar array that's supposed to be 5kw, the angle of my dangle and the cold weather is really producing a large amount.
Also I think I need to look into a more accurate forecasting add-on.
Forecasted amount for today was supposed to be 8.7kwh, I generated 20.5kwh and sent 17.7kwh back to the grid.
If I was at home and not sunning in foreign climes I could have stuck that in one of the cars.

The current battery in the Leaf gives it around 100km range, replacing it with a €5k'ish 40kwh replacement will bring that range up to around 250km and probably outlast me

To add to this
Currently our space heating is by coal, not the greatest, but for spewing shite into the air it's our "cleanest" option compared to wood or turf, we've spent just under €2k on it, so after 3 years the heat pump would have paid for itself, something you can't say about an oil or propane fuelled heating system.
Upshot of all this is, next time someone asks you what the ROI is on moving over to renewables just ask them the same question about their fossil fueled equivalents

This years plan
Add a further 5kWp SW array (about €1.2k) and a heat pump (around €4k for a 7kw unit) and a third EV for the teen that's currently learning to drive, we'll then finally get off the fossil fuels merry go round, all on track for it all to have paid for itself in about 5 years, transport side might take longer, our 10 year old Leaf is showing no signs of dying and saves around €1.8k a year in fuel and servicing I'll probably just replace the battery in around 5 years.
