Happy Weird Pride Day, y’all! 🎉

Regardless of whether you are weird because you’re ND, queer, mentally ill, physically disabled, an ethnic minority or just because, you get to be proud of your weirdness, own it, flaunt it, and let other weirdos feel less ashamed and more empowered to just be weird.

My mother showed me by example, and I’ve followed in her footsteps, being weird and proud to this very day.

A podcast for and from the autistic community was always going to be part of what Aut2Aut offers. So when APCN published a call for autistic podcasts, I knew this would be a great opportunity.

My pitch was accepted! I am now recording and editing the Autistic Rant Hour, where my guests and I rant and infodump about the aggravating, the inexplicable, the unjust and the infuriating, in all fields of life, one episode at a time.

1. You know, I've been thinking some more about this blog post, and it occurred to me that the first goal of LLMs must have been to pass the Turing test, i.e. making a human communicating with a machine believe they are communicating with another human.

In its base, an exercise in masking.

LLMs are useful for autistic folks writing emails and proofreading messages, precisely because they were specifically designed to pass the Turing test.

It is likely that many autistic people have been involved in developing AI models. But the outcome that has been dubbed by feminists “the mansplaining machine” and shown by scientists to engage in bullshitting, because it speaks over-confidently about stuff it doesn’t know, and makes stuff up as it goes along, is decidedly unautistic.

I had a wonderful time at Autscape Online 2026, not only presenting prepped.to, but also hearing wonderful talks, participating in excellent workshops, and chatting with participants on zoom and discord.

I really recommend this #ActuallyAutistic conference, at takes place online each February. Haven't tried the in-person version yet, but hoping to...

It was like that in an earlier version, but that was like a month ago. I'd say delete your cache, but that would only be relevant if you've already visited prepped.to like last year.
