Some quotes as I am able now to read the article. “The co‑occurrence of autism and ADHD is far more common than many people realize. Estimates suggest that roughly 30–80% of Autistic people also meet criteria for ADHD, while about 20–50% of people diagnosed with ADHD also meet criteria for autism, meaning a substantial portion of both communities live in this shared space. Until the DSM‑5 was published in 2013, clinicians were not formally allowed to diagnose autism and ADHD together, despite this high co‑occurrence“ #AuDHD #ADHD #autism #ActuallyAutistic ⬇️

I can still be completely honest and entirely myself, and also notice how I come across to others, what will affect them, and what they need to be okay right now. #healthycommunication #healthyrelationships #ActuallyAutistic #Autistic

Many aspects of our lives are shaped by strong social pressures, happenstance, luck, and (mis)fortune, that don’t necessarily reflect our actual preferences, yet it’s common that other people assume that’s what we wanted. Or we believe that lie ourselves, and we blame ourselves for not “making better choices”. #ActuallyAutistic #AuDHD #Autistic #Neurospicy #Neurodiversity

You deserve to have the capacity for having a life, for being able to engage with special interests, with friends, with family, with activities, with just resting, with whatever it is that makes you come alive. #ActuallyAutistic #AuDHD #Autistic #Neurodiversity

When I was a kid and complained the ice cream was cold, they laughed at me. When I fought my mom putting on tights, she would get exasperated. When I "went into a sulk" over a change of plans, they said it wasn't a big deal and I should just get over it. Labeling it "not a big deal" was a way for them to get off the hook of having to deal with what was really going on. https://youtube.com/shorts/b_EZ_iPFoaE?feature=share #ActuallyAutistic #AuDHD #Autistic #Neurospicy #Neurodiversity

April is coming — and so is an important conversation. The narrative around autism is changing — and I want to be part of that conversation. I'm available for media appearances and interviews. https://www.autismchrysalis.com/speaking-interviews/ #AutismAcceptance #ActuallyAutistic #NeurodiversityMovement #AutisticAdults #Neurodiversity #PublicSpeaker #AutismAwareness

My brain finds that it’s hard to predict a lot of the world and a lot of people. And so I tend to find comfort in trying to make things into absolutes. So things tend to be sorted into an all or a nothing, especially when I’m stressed. And one of my biggest revelations was, it’s not all or nothing. #ActuallyAutistic #AuDHD #Autistic #Neurodiversity #Acceptance

I spent years feeling like my body was overreacting to things other people brushed off. It made more sense when I realised most of my rules about what is and is not 'safe' were written in childhood. Of course that stuff is still affecting you. That is when you learned what did and did not feel safe. https://youtube.com/shorts/_U6Prl9q9zw?feature=share #ActuallyAutistic #AuDHD #Autistic #Neurospicy #Neurodiversity

Sometimes it might be difficult to figure out whether it’s actually a negative thought or the practicalities of the situation, especially as some of these negative thoughts feel really true, and you’re so used to thinking them that it’s hard to tell. #ActuallyAutistic #AuDHD #Autistic #Neurodiversity #Anxiety

People want to know that they’re making a difference. So when they do something kind for you and you write a thank-you, you’re cluing them in to what difference their time, attention, or effort made. And for most people on the receiving end of that, that feels really good. #ActuallyAutistic #AuDHD #Autistic #Neurodiversity #healthycommunication #healthyrelationships

Preamble: Nordic studio AuDHD apartment, so you have a computer stuff, extension cords, speakers and all kinds of detritus crammed in the most inconvenient way possible. Laminate floors with some small, annoying rugs strewn around, you know, the ones that no matter how much you vacuum or beat them (you Nordics will know), they still sprinkle this nasty fine dust everywhere when you go lay them back out. Problem: What is the best tool to wipe the floors for someone who has smashie-smashie meltdowns? I've tried everything from an old t-shirt on a squeegee to those flat shammies or whatnot, and I feel that everything just smears stuff around, and I regularly end up snapping the stick part of the tool having a meltdown trying to fit it somewhere. What works? Nordic minimalism is not an option, I'm not rich enough for that. #ActuallyAutistic

The more I disconnected from negative self-talk, and the less I judged myself, the less I judged others and the more my compassion for them grew. #ActuallyAutistic #AuDHD #Autistic #PersonalGrowth

A lethal material is sold as fidgets to autistic and ADHD people. 16,700 rare earth magnet fidget units were recalled by CPSC in just in the first 7 weeks of 2026. If pieces or flakes are ingested they cause severe intestinal damage and death. These rare earth magnet fidgets are often sold with illegal medical marketing claims of stress relief and as disability aids. Do not risk your life for these fatal rare earth magnet fidgets. #ActuallyAutistic #ADHD (I accidentally deleted the original post, so reposting this because it's vital info to know.)

Producer has a deep mistrust regarding me. She now denies she ever used the wording that I misunderstood but says I "misunderstood" a clear and direct statement, implying I did it on purpose. Further she fully believed when someone said that I had involved another person in order to go over her head. It's obvious she takes me for a manipulative person, someone capable of absolute devious behavior. I don't know why nor what purpose this would serve. I'm passionate about my job and I often go the extra mile to ensure that other departments get their needs for the tools fulfilled fast and in good quality. I seek smooth and effective collaboration. Yet I'm treated as if were looking for conflict and enjoyed sabotaging the very project that needs to be successful for me and others even having a job. With that level of distrust, I don't know how to go forward... #ActuallyAutistic #AuDHD
