Fan made films can be hit or miss with me, but I'm 10 minutes into this #Helldivers2 film and it is on another level.

Some smart writing and twists, wild camera angles and quick, swooping shots of fight scenes. They lean into the propaganda in clever ways. Worth giving it a shot IMO.

Bring rock in safe pocket. Not the right spawn? Surrender, no worries

Get the right spawn? Move rock to backpack. If I get downed, all they literally get is a rock 😆

I've seen a few more requests in the #MarathonGame sub about the possibility of friendly lobbies, like #ArcRaiders. I get the consensus from the community and even Bungie’s social media that this isn’t in the plan.

(TBC: I am *not* complaining if that’s the case)

How much do you think Arc’s sense of whimsy contributed to cultivating the friendly side of lobbies? The funny falls from buildings, instruments, glow sticks, rubber duckies. There’s a subtle sense of humor to the game. I wonder if this had any influence.

I’m fascinated by how the game photography and videography subculture is forming in #ArcRaiders.

This is probably too long of a video if you don’t care about Arc. But it’s the journey of someone who wanted to make a short film in this unique game and started by just asking random strangers to be actors. Skip to ~ 32:45 to see just the short film: https://youtu.be/eXwK8p8X6b8

It’s a unique challenge since Arc runs are limited to 30 or 40 minutes at most, then you have to get out. There are enemy robots everywhere. You could get jumped at any moment by hostile players who couldn’t care less what you’re doing.

Although yes, we now know they try to separate out friendly players from the PvPs. But it’s never a guarantee. Hell, your ‘camera’ (the binoculars) could get stolen!
